Tasnem Erwa (Arabic Linguist)
As an early childhood educator and bilingual teacher, I firmly believe that reading books to children from infancy to a young age is a crucial practice. It not only aids in their language development but also fosters their social-emotional, cognitive, and physical growth.
Reading is not just about language development. It is a gateway to various cultures, a tool to enhance creativity, and a means to build connections.
As an Arabic native speaker and mom, I always encourage my children to speak and read in Arabic. This helps them be fluent in more than one language and enhances their creativity by providing them with a unique perspective from both languages and cultures.
